WPWP is a natural rain garden where water soaks in rather than running off rapidly. WPWP and Pinnacle Prairie to the west are perfect examples the fulfilling purposes of Fayetteville's riparian-zone protection ordinance, tree-protection ordinance, prairie-restoration effort, flood-prevention effort, urban-wildlife habitat initiative, watershed-protection plans, clean-air goals, beautification with native plants, providing beautiful wildflowers, birds, butterflies and other pollinators, and easy walking on the paved Pinnacle Prairie trail: But similar parcels with similar value remain threatened
